  11. I learned about the 23 Jan SDL code by seeing something in this newsgroup.

  13. I thought I'd learn about it visiting the USR web page, but I can't find my way
  14. around there at all since they changed it... I used to have a "hot list" url that
  15. took me right the Courier download file area...

  17. So, I phone USR support to learn that the upgrade is only available from their
  18. BBS... gee, I can call long distance to get it, but It's not on their FTP nor web
  19. sites ... fortunately someone e-mailed me the necessary file. (Thanks, and you
  20. know who you are :-)

  22. But alas, it turns out that I spent $200 US on the daughtercard upgrade for my 
  23. pre-V.34 Courier. The daughter card was to make "hardware updates obsolete"
  24. et al... but not this time.... I'm supposed to send my modem all the way to
  25. Illinois for three weeks while they have to do a hardware upgrade.... Hey, they
  26. trusted me to install the daughter card properly... why can't they send me the
  27. parts and I'll just get my soldering iron out for 15 minutes?

  29. Sheesh, I think I should have "upgraded" to Motorola or ??? instead of the
  30. daughtercard route... at least then I'd have TWO working modems...
